About Medical University

Medical University is an underground station on Line 2 (Saburtalo, the green line) of the Tbilisi Metro, opened in 1979. It serves Tbilisi State Medical University (TSMU) and the cluster of clinics and hospitals in the surrounding part of the Saburtalo district.

The station is busy throughout the day with students, doctors, nurses and patients moving between the university and the nearby medical facilities. Around it lies a settled residential stretch of Saburtalo, with everyday shops, pharmacies and small eateries that serve both the medical community and local residents.

Positioned in the middle of the green line, Medical University connects this health and education hub to the wider network — eastward toward the city centre and westward deeper into Saburtalo and the avenues beyond.
