About Nadzaladevi

Nadzaladevi is an underground station on Line 1 (Akhmeteli–Varketili, the red line) of the Tbilisi Metro, serving the working-class Nadzaladevi district in the northern part of the city. It opened in 1966 as part of the metro’s original section, making it one of the oldest stations in the network.

The surrounding area is largely residential, dominated by Soviet-era apartment blocks and the neighbourhoods of Sanzona, Temka and Lotkini. Rather than tourist sights, the station is framed by everyday city life: local markets, small shops and bus stops that feed commuters into the metro.

For most riders Nadzaladevi is a workaday commuter station, connecting residents of the northern suburbs with the central avenues and the southern end of the line. Bus connections at street level extend its reach into the surrounding hillside neighbourhoods.
