About Marjanishvili

Marjanishvili is an underground station on Line 1 (Akhmeteli–Varketili, the red line), located in the Chughureti district on the left bank of the Mtkvari River. Opened in 1966 with the metro’s first section, it is one of the network’s original stations and a busy hub on the city’s north side.

The station opens directly onto the pedestrianised stretch of David Agmashenebeli Avenue, a restored boulevard lined with 19th-century facades, cafés and restaurants. It is one of Tbilisi’s liveliest areas for dining and nightlife, and is within easy walking distance of the famous Dry Bridge flea market.

Nearby cultural and creative landmarks include the Marjanishvili Theatre and Fabrika, a former Soviet sewing factory transformed into a hostel and creative hub with courtyards, bars and studios. The mix of restored architecture and contemporary nightlife makes Marjanishvili a popular destination for both locals and visitors.
